Rabbi Rona Shapiro

“Although I was ordained 17 years ago at The Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, I am thrilled to be occupying my first pulpit position here in Cleveland at Congregation Bethaynu. I view synagogues as a unique locus in which people can form communities of meaning that is, connect to one another on a deep and personal level and explore together the big questions which frame our lives: Why are we here? What does it mean? Why do we suffer?

In our increasingly consumerist and individually oriented society, I believe the synagogue is a unique institution in which to engage in this vital kind of exploration.”
