Dedicated in 1924, The Temple in University Circle is sacred space for members of The Temple - Tifereth Israel, a Cleveland treasure and a National Historic Landmark. On March 19, 2010 it was announced that it will start a new dual life as the Milton and Tamar Maltz Performing Arts Center of CWRU.

The Silver Sanctuary, named for Rabbis Abba Hillel Silver and Daniel Jeremy Silver, the father and son who led the congregation for a total of 70 years, will be renamed "Silver Hall". The Temple will continue to use it for High Holy Day worship and for life cycle events.

Credit for this imaginative collaboration goes to Rabbi Richard Block of The Temple - Tifereth Israel and President Barbara Snyder of Case Western Reserve University. Once again, Milton and Tamar Maltz have earned the gratitude of the community for their vision and extraordinary generosity.

On a personal note, I have published more than 300 pages on this website, but none has given me more pleasure than this one. (learn why)
